Coppell Lacrosse Announces Collegiate Coaching Veteran Jeffrey Roberts
Is New Varsity High School Boys Coach
COPPELL, Texas – July 10, 2015 – Coppell Lacrosse Association, a North District Division I program in the Texas High School Lacrosse League, today announced hiring coaching veteran Jeffrey Roberts as Varsity Boys head coach. Coach Roberts boasts two decades of collegiate lacrosse coaching experience in NCAA Division I, II, and III programs. Roberts will be responsible for leading the Coppell high school boys lacrosse program.
Roberts was most recently an assistant coach for Marquette University, an NCAA Division I lacrosse program, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to his tenure at Marquette, he was the founding head coach at Concordia Wisconsin University where he was responsible for program administration and management of this Division III program. While there, he as named 2012 Midwest Lacrosse Conference Coach of the Year. Earlier in his career, he coached at Dartmouth, University of Vermont and Colorado College.

He brings us a wealth of coaching experience, a passion for teaching the game and a proven ability to connect with his players,” stated high school program director, Greg Goyne. “He is an extremely respected, dedicated leader whose focus on player development is well-known throughout the college ranks. We couldn’t be more excited about his arrival.”
Roberts said, “I'd like to thank President Robin Barron and the entire search committee for this opportunity, I am excited about beginning this new challenge as Coppell's varsity boys coach. After many years coaching at the collegiate level, I am looking forward to having the ability to impact student-athletes at the prep level and prepare them for the next level. My wife Nancy and I are very excited to be part of the Coppell community.”
Roberts holds a Bachelors of Science from Springfield College in Massachusetts, and is currently working on his Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
As Varsity boys head coach, Coach Roberts replaces Alex Poole, who resigned from the position to pursue other opportunities. The Coppell high school coaching staff also includes Matt Mueller who will continue in his role as JV coach and youth program director.

In an attempt to have our HS Boys become more involved with the youth, we are trying something new this summer by them giving private lessons or re-stringing heads at a reasonable cost! The private lessons can be a small group or individual.

Position is not required, but if you would like to have a HS boy who plays the same position as your son, we will try to accommodate. If interested in lessons, please let us know if you'd like them as a group or one on one.
The HS boys communication coordinator will e-mail you the contact information of some boys who would be available to work with your son.
Time and pricing would be something you would work out with the HS player.
Please keep in mind that this is something new we are trying, so let us know if you'd be interested! While CLA encourages this, members of our board/staff will not be on hand during the lessons.
